World Thinking Day 2014

World Thinking Day occurs on February 22 of each year.  This is a day for celebrating Girl Scouts/Girl Guides all over the world.  This is a day to celebrate all the friendships and sisterhood with all Girl Scout/Guides!

My Troop decided to research and present England and our service units World Thinking Day event.  The girls went above and beyond what the other troops did.

The girls created a display which included information on Girl Guiding in the UK, their uniforms, the Promise and Motto.  They also included requirements of some of the badges they can earn in the UK.  I think the Chocolate badge is my favorite!  They had a Circus Skills badge, which is pretty awesome too.

The display included a map with important cities and information on landmarks.

One of the girls researched games and found a fun one that EVERYONE enjoyed playing.  It is called “Red Letter” and the instructions have been included below.  Try playing it with your Girl Scout troop!  It requires quick thinking skills.  This also includes a pic of their SWAP!

For our Snack, we had English Breakfast Tea with Sugar Cubes!  We had to refill the teapot many of times.

The girls even created a craft!  They taught the other Girl Scouts how to make pipe cleaner crowns.  The girls got really created and all the bright colors went first.  The only colors we had left over were brown and black.  (So now to think of a craft including brown and black pipe cleaners)

The girls did all the work themselves.  They are taking pride in their troop.  We, as leaders, do give them guidance.  They take their leadership roles very seriously.

Next up for Girl Scouts, the Get Moving! Journey!
